Athletes’ Residence
• Building A
  o 12 2-bedroom suites. Each 2 bedroom suite will sleep 18 participants.
  o 12 3-bedroom suites. Each 3 bedroom suite will sleep 23 participants.
  o The basement has 27 rooms. Each room will sleep 8 participants.

• Building B
  o 18 1-bedroom suites. Each 1 bedroom suite will sleep 13 participants.
  o 30 2-bedroom suites. Each 2 bedroom suite will sleep 18 participants.
  o The basement has 43 rooms. Each room will sleep 8 participants.

• Other features:
  o Both buildings are designed to meet the Yukon Housing Green Home design guidelines for energy efficiency.
  o East / west facing of the suites will optimize balanced passive solar gain.
  o Both buildings are barrier free design throughout. Flooring choices such as carpet profile considered    mobility needs and choice of paint colors considered visual impairment needs.
  o All suites have 9 ft. ceilings and large balconies, (6 ft. x 18 ft.)
  o The basements are concrete construction, with walls 10 feet high and 10 inches thick.
  o Both the foundations and the modular units are designed to withstand local seismic loading conditions     (earthquakes).
  o Both buildings have elevators

• Legacy:

The Athletes’ Village will leave behind a lasting legacy for the Yukon. Due to a noteworthy partnership between the City of Whitehorse, the Yukon Government and the Host Society, the Athletes’ Village will provide housing for Yukon students and residents for generations to come.
